Kolaghat Thermal Power Station is a major thermal power station in West Bengal. Kolaghat Thermal Power Station is located near Mecheda at East Midnapore district along the main line of South Eastern Railways that connects Howrah and Nagpur on the banks of Rupnarayan River. The power plant is operated by West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited.
KTPS is Coal fired thermal power Plant, consisting of 6 Units of 210 MW each. Installed capacity: 210MW x 3 (Stage-1) and 210MW x 3 (Stage-2). KTPS has won quite a few prestigious recognition for generation excellence from Govt. Of India over the years.
Date of Commissioning of the Units are as follow –
Unit#1 (September 1990), Unit#2 (March 1986), Unit#3 (October 1984), Unit#4 (April 1995), Unit#5 (May 1991), Unit#6 (January 1994)
